Release Date:
Japan: September 13 2008
USA: March 22 2009
Australia: May 14 2009
Europe: May 22 2009
Platform: Nintendo DS
Region: Sinnoh
New Pokemon: 0 (59 added into the Pokedex)
New Moves: 0
New Abilities: 0
Gameplay Changes:
Not much changes in the way of gameplay, but there is one major inclusion. The Distortion World. The home of Giratina, the Box Art Legendary, and the Pokemon that Team Galactic try and capture. The Distortion World is a special place. You can walk on the walls, and the camera follows you as you go, making directing yourself very difficult.
59 Pokemon have been added into the Pokedex, although none of them were unavailable in it's predessors, Pokemon Diamond & Pearl. They are mostly evolutions of old Pokemon (like Gallade, Glisgor & Dusknoir) and there were some new psuedo-legendaries and legendaries (like Rotom & Giratina). This made completing the Sinnoh Pokedex that one tiny bit harder.
The Battle Frontier has been re-introduced in the game, aswell as the move tutors. The Battle Frontier allows you to see Pokemon in the National Pokedex (001-493) you haven't yet seen.
Arceus, Darkrai & Cresselia, are three Pokemon available in the game, but are not in the Pokedex. They are very powerful only available via a Wi-Fi event, which would have finished a long time ago.
Unobtainable Pokemon:
In Pokemon Emerald, some Pokemon can only be found in the Sinnoh Pokedex by trading from their predessors, Pokemon Diamond & Pearl
